How do you properly clean a house?

1.Clear the clutter

Before you start cleaning, make sure you have all the kid’s toys, any dishes on tables, etc picked up off of the floor or any tables or desks. Take a big bag with you, I like to carry two bags, one for trash and one for toys. Then I go back around and do bring another bag for any laundry. While you’re doing all this make sure you are thinking about what can be saved and what can be tossed or donated.

2.Gather all your cleaning tools in a caddy

Whether you’re using a cleaning caddy a bucket or a cart, you will find that you can more easily clean your house. You will not have to go back and forwarth from room to room to grab different items.

3.Clean the entire house all at once instead of one room at a time.

When you mop, sweep or dust the entire house vs mopping, sweeping, dusting one room at a time you will notice you will save yourself some time and you will miss fewer areas.

4.Sweep, then mop

You’re better off sweeping the kitchen and the bathroom floors then start mopping from the farthest corner of the room and move backwards towards the doorway.

5.Disenfect Countertops and surface areas

Go through your house and wipe down the hard surfaces – from countertops, appliances, and cabinets to doorknobs, light switches, TV remotes, and telephones. You should disinfect some of those surfaces, particularly the ones that might deliver germs to people’s fingers and faces. Make a nontoxic disinfection solution by mixing one-fourth to a half cup of white or apple cider vinegar with a cup of water.

6. Clean tubs, sinks, and toilets

Spray cleaner on the kitchen sink than on bathroom sinks, tubs, and toilets. Let it sit for a few minutes so the cleaner has time to dissolve dirt and stains. Then return to the kitchen and start scrubbing. Don’t forget to wipe down the inside of the microwave. Clean toilets last.

7. Clean your cleaning tools

An often overlooked part of cleaning the house is maintaining your cleaning tools. Using a dirty mop or a vacuum with a full bag is much less effective, and you’ll end up spending more time trying to clean.
